Article by: runtimeuk on 2012-11-22

Recovery Equipment Direct ran a free prize draw at last month’s Recovery Tow Show, open to all visitors to their stand, to win a CONDOR Motor Cycle Loader.

The lucky winner drawn by David Gregory at the close of the show was Cathie Chapman HR Consultant at Lantern Recovery, based in Hertfordshire.  Cathie was very pleased to receive the Condor, which is now being utilised in their Training Division, training operators on best practice when recovering motor cycles.

Lantern Recovery are a family run company, and have been operating since 1966.  The business was established by Joe and Ray Coleman, who are more recently joined by Ray’s three sons Craig, Lee and Ryan.

Lantern have grown their business from strength to strength over years, and now operate from eight sites, the most recent opening in Avonmouth and  Devon, and have around 200 employees.  Lantern’s business has diversified into various areas such as their Plant division, Grab Hire, as well as including the bodybuilding company Worldwide Recovery Systems Limited.

The recovery part of Lantern’s business operates vehicles of all sizes from 4×4 vehicles, to heavies equipped to move even an aeroplane!  Lantern represent a number of recovery clubs including Mondial, Britiannia Rescue and Equity Red Star, as well as managing Izusu Commercial Assistance for Isuzu Trucks’ warranty operation, and RHA Rescue, all coordinated through their 40 seat operations centre.

Lantern run an impressive IVR approved Training Centre based at South Mimms on the M25.  Paul Chapman runs the centre, and was pleased to be able to incorporate the Condor Motor Cycle Loader into the motorcycle recovery training.  Paul said, “The Condor is an ideal solution to loading motor cycles single handed, very stable and so easy to use, we will be using it in all our motorcycle recovery training sessions now”.
